What place in the world feels most like home to you, and how has it shaped your music?

KK: Atlanta, Norcross and Georgia in general , it has shaped my music in a more swag direction in a hip hop direction in an ATL way.

Can you recall the first moment you realized music was your path? What was the spark?

KK: I’ve always pretended to perform as a kid as early as I can remember maybe 4 years old I would be in my living room pretending to be performing at a concert . But the moment I realized music was my path was when I had so much fun learning music as a whole.

Music often holds pieces of memory—are there specific places, people, or moments that echo most vividly in your sound?

KK: Definitely mariachi music because it’s what’s I grew up with. It's in my DNA and OutKast weird experimental sounds with catchy flows.

Who in your life has believed in your music the most, and how has their support shaped your path?

KK: Mostly myself and mostly my dad. Expect he wanted me to become a big time mariachi player but I believed in myself in terms of making my own world with music . My family supports me 100 percent and it helps me a lot mentally.

When you think about the future, what’s the energy or feeling you’re most drawn to create or experience?

KK: I’m very excited for what the future holds , the opportunities and experiences that have yet to come , I just pray to god I live to see the day.

Your name carries significance—how does it reflect the story you’re sharing through your music?

KK: So basically I got my name from this game called dragon ball xenoverse 2 and I randomized my gamer tag n it gave me “kid kaiokenx20” and I liked it so it stuck . The way it reflects in my music is my tie in references I have of dragon ball which was a big influence in my life as a whole.

Is there a piece of your music—or even a single lyric—that feels like it captures your essence? What is it, and why?

KK: Damaged ego the most keeps me humble because no matter how much great feats u can accomplish there will always be someone who treats like you like you ain’t shit lol “feeling like a god but get treated like people” Yk that’s the whole ego thing where you think you’re this untouchable being when in reality we all human and mortal.

If you could sit down with your younger self, before they ever picked up an instrument or sang a note, what would you tell them?

KK: You’re in for a wild ride.

What’s a surprising influence or genre that has shaped your sound—something fans might not expect?

KK: Pink Floyd and homeshake they shaped my more psychedelic sound.
