After launching in November, Fitfo Labs hit the ground running in December with an incredible lineup of events and projects. We kicked things off with our highly anticipated A Nite in the Lab II, a unique experience that doubles as a live podcast recording. December also saw the debut of our very own version of a tiny desk concert, the Lab Session Concerts, the filming of an absolutely LIT new music video for Splvsh and Awall, and the creation of holiday magic with Cocktails & Canvas, our festive Christmas Doodle event. To top it all off, we capped the month with the release of Tillman’s Bloody Murder music video on Christmas Day—a powerful finale to finish the year strong.
A Nite in the Lab II: A Recap of an Incredible Evening
The night kicked off with Kanise, the winner of our first Nite in the Lab, who once again blew us away with her performance of Jonah Hill. Over the past few months, Kanise and her talented band—Sammy, Aaron, and Jovan—have become like family to us. Her powerful performance set the tone for what would be an unforgettable evening.
Following Kanise, seven other artists took the stage, making A Nite in the Lab II an incredible showcase of talent.
Mad Ace was up next, randomly selected from the bucket. Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, he performed News Today, a touching tribute to his godbrother who passed away. In the interview that followed, Ace’s heartfelt story moved the audience, reminding us why Fitfo Labs created this platform: to share music and stories that resonate deeply.
MMW, an Atlanta rapper, brought sharp wordplay and crisp delivery that had the crowd engaged. His performance impressed Edward so much that he invited MMW to the LAB’s recording studio for free sessions to further develop his sound—another testament to why we do what we do.
Then came Hokulani, the 24-year-old from Las Vegas, who performed her soulful track Lost on a Sunday. Her voice control, perfect pitch, and laid-back presence had everyone mesmerized, making it one of the most beautiful performances we’ve seen on our stage.
During the intermission, guests mingled, refilled drinks, and enjoyed hors d’oeuvres while admiring the fine art on display. Notably, Victor sold two pieces that evening for $800 each, showcasing the incredible support for local artists.
After the break, Splvsh, Fitfo Labs’ own, brought his Urbana Latino vibes with Amor De Mi Vida, a heartfelt track inspired by an anonymous crush.
The next bucket pull introduced Ezra, who left the audience speechless. Not only did he sing the top line of his track—which he fully produced and played all instruments for—but he also performed live with his violin. Ezra’s talent was undeniable, and he’s definitely someone to watch.
Inspired by the energy, Awall took the stage with his high-energy track Miller Lite, getting the crowd hyped just in time for the next artist.
Kid Kaoiken followed, kicking off with his trap anthem To the Max, which had the crowd vibing instantly. During his interview, an audience member noticed he brought a trumpet, leading to an impromptu performance of Getting By. Switching between soulful vocals and trumpet, Kid Kaoiken showcased his versatility, earning massive cheers from the crowd.
Finally, Oscar Lee closed the night with his smooth love song Bedtime, setting a perfect tone for the final votes.
When the audience votes were tallied, the results were clear:
3rd place: Mad Ace with 12 votes.
2nd place: Hokulani with 14 votes.
1st place: Kid Kaoiken with an astounding 35 votes.
What a night! From incredible performances to heartfelt stories and creative connections, A Nite in the Lab II was nothing short of magical.
Special thanks to the Cork brothers, who captured the essence of the evening with stunning, organic stills that truly brought the night to life.
Our next event is January 25th. Get ready for another star-studded show!
Artist Spotlight: Kid Kaioken
This month’s spotlight shines on Kid Kaioken, an Atlanta native who’s been performing since the age of four. With a rich musical background rooted in marching bands and family mariachi traditions, Kaioken has crafted a style that’s as dynamic as it is unique.
When we first met Kaioken, we weren’t sure what to expect. But the moment he stepped into the Lab, trumpet in hand, it was clear we were witnessing something special. His presence, energy, and raw talent stood out immediately.
This artist doesn’t just perform; he commands the stage. With style, swagger, flow, and an undeniable presence, Kaioken knows how to connect with his audience. Most importantly, he delivers his words with passion and conviction, making every lyric hit harder.
There were so many great musicians - with so many varying styles - but when all the factors were combined and the votes came in, this kid truly stole the show.
Keep an eye out for Kid Kaioken—this is just the beginning for an artist destined to make waves. 🎺🔥
Lab Session Concert: Starring Kanise & The Band
Our first-ever live concert... wow. Let’s just say it was a rush. The night unfolded like magic, thanks to all the hard work behind the scenes.
Edward and Kanise (fun fact: the entire band now goes by “Kanise,” much like Sade) held multiple strategy meetings and two full rehearsals leading up to the recording. By the time the cameras rolled, everyone was completely at ease—with the space, the team, and most importantly, the music.
Awall handled the sound flawlessly (as always), leaving nothing to worry about and everything to enjoy.
A quick reminder: Kanise was voted the winner of our very first Nite in the Lab, and it was an honor to collaborate with her and the band to bring this vision to life.
Keep an eye out—the full concert is dropping soon on our YouTube channel!
Cocktails & Canvas: Featuring Julia Longshore
This month, we hosted our first-ever Cocktails & Canvas—Christmas Doodle edition! We transformed the main room, swapping out the usual audience seating for big tables, ready for creativity to flow.
A total of 48 friends and family joined us, following along with Julia’s expert brushstrokes to paint the cutest holiday gnome. The vibe was festive, the creativity was high, and the laughs were nonstop.
A couple of special shoutouts: to Oscar, for saving the day with a whiskey run (yes, we ran out), and to the Cork brothers, whose French accents apparently improve their painting skills.
What a night to remember! 🎨✨
